imposter syndrome

It seems that a lot of people in high level jobs feel that they are frauds: they are anxious and depressed because they feel they do not deserve their success and they worry that they are not as clever as they seem.
I've worked with successful people in high level jobs. It's very easy to believe that some of them do not deserve their success and that they are not particularly clever -- not at the job that they are paid to do. And there are some who do not have the syndrome but are truly imposters. They just don't care.
