On the one hand, federal government is squeezing staff out of CSIRO, our key science organisation.
on the other hand, state and Fed are throwing money at miners, where anyone with a truck licence can earn an excellent living.
if you can play sport, you can earn millions, with the bonus that all your crimes will be forgiven.
Or wear a suit, talk fast and use other people's money or skills to live like a millionaire.
Why would anyone waste their time studying science.
