Politicians are still fighting over a laptop which -- allegedly -- contains material which could "ruin [former politicians'] careers forever" (Dumped Labor MP..." 14 May).
We're talking about politicians here. The people who run -- or ran -- our state. On our behalf. With our permission.
Are they deviates? idiots? criminals? So far all we have is innuendo. Whatever the "material" -- the voting public has a right to know.
Because (a) we need to know how former politicians may have damaged our lives. And (b) because actions of former politicians are a good guide to actions of current and future politicians. We need to know. Because we need to be warned.
Oh, and (c) If the "material" is meaningless then we -- voters -- need to be reassured. And former politicians need to have the innuendos removed.
