Way back in 1889, Jerome K Jerome wrote Three Men in a Boat.One of the characters spent time in a doctor's waiting room -- reading a book of diseases and symptoms. Within an hour he had realised that, despite feeling quite healthy, he in fact had a plethora of deadly diseases.
In these modern times we still suffer -- but faster, thanks to the internet.
