by identifying as Jewish, have groups of Australians lost their rights as australians?

I'll vote Albanese

our state government happily gives billions to miners -- to employ apprentices.

the miner changes its mind, sacks all apprentices... keeps the money.

state gov offers a few more billions to their billionaire mining friends. for similar short-term apprentice offers.

now Albanese is willing to put the environment ahead of destruction by mining.

if I have to vote Labor to get a nature positive option, well, so be it.

At least it's a democratic choice.

two applicants, each exactly match the vacancy

the man gets the job because... he is a man.

... with positive discrimination... the woman gets the job. and this is now good?!

of course anyone can now declare themselves b to be "feeling" like a new non-specific gender   and get to the head of the job queue.

there's even a Perth woman who wants positive discrimination in favour of women going through menopause.

or should that be, people who feel that if not for their actual gender, they could well be menopausal.

I'm with Trump on this one: just male or female. depending on actual genitals.

then work on the actual discrimination... where pushy people get ahead, or get their friends ahead, in any situation.

additive errors

a woman wants us to avoid nasty additives in food. good news: she says that Australian manufacturers are already using less dangerous additives. 

then The West messes up the report. with a graphic of,  use this but not this, of identified brands. 

eg

use Mainland Buttersoft but not westernStar.

two problems: we looked in our fridge.  neither product had the named nasty additives. that could be timing, the products could have been improved. 

major problem:

Western Star is butter.  ingredients are cream and salt. 

the other product is butter-- with Canola oil.  to make it spreadable. the two are *not* equivalent...

if you want butter, buy butter. 

butter plus canola is *not* the same product

... even ignoring the lack of additives.

there's a kid who is just a little bit too thick to get into Perth modern. 

so the mother forces her thick kid into targeted tutoring.

which means that some slightly smarter kid will fail to get into the Perth modern program. 

may as well fill the academic excellence program with thick kids who have pushy, or rich, parents. 

tell the kids who could actually benefit from an abandoned program... go to hell.

WA will pay tradies to move west. 

ordering $10000 and the east coast is best lifestyle.

1. the first job for the tradies is to build their own houses. 

while they are doing that,  10000 will barely cover their rent. 

not that they will find anywhere to rent. 

warning 2:

the West is best lifestyle is long gone. 

it was rejected as " dullsville"

after years of effort WA has destroyed the attractive Dullsville lifestyle.

the closest he comes to a bush trail is a high speed rally car race along a dirt track. 

the Wine Trail -- another road trail -- is mentioned

so where are tourists expected to *walk* ??

two news items

The paper labels a plane crash off  Rotto. as horror. 

yes, it's horrible. people die and I'm really pleased when I read that others did survive. 

in a completely different story:

a woman buys a child's nightie from Temu. it's cheap and pretty and is given as a present to a granddaughter. 

now I know that Temu is a market,  not a manufacturer. 

Asian manufacturers sell and deliver to Australians via Temu.

The role of Temu is to market... to offer discounts and bonuses so that buyers will buy more of the products for sale. 

because delivery is direct to Australia -- the manufacturers are able to bypass -- or ignore  --all Australian safety standards

In this case they ignore fire safety standards. 

t the granddaughter wore the nightie. 

was hit by sparks.  the nightie went up in flames. 

a young girl now faces a lifetime of plastic surgery. 

a grandmother now faces a lifetime of guilt. 

to me,  that story is a real horror. 

I still trust planes and flying. 

I will never, ever, buy anything via Temu.

acceptable Australia Day?

Emma Garlett, Opinion 7th Jan wants a date for Australia Day which is acceptable to Whyt Australians without offending Blak Australians. 

Her objection to Jan 26th is reasonable and well presented. 

unfortunately Emma offers no alternative date -- acceptable or otherwise.

Can Garlett -- and other Blak and Whyt Australians -- accept 29th Sep?

On 29th Sep 1983 a Bill was enacted to give all indigenous Australians full voting rights -- and responsibilities.

universal VAD

VAD must always be a freely available choice.There is no reason to follow the demands of Joe Said.

Said claims to represent a vindictive god creature. which enjoys the suffering of human beings who could otherwise die in relative peace.

Rather, we need to extend VAD as a free choice for anyone.

There are teenagers who are forced to suicide rather than face more time in jail.

offer these children a considered discussion of VAD.

Or take the far harder -- more humane -- option of providing the children with a life which is worth living
